DAVID W. MAVER

Age 71. David was born in Altoona , PA on May 17, 1929 to Helen and William Maver. He moved to Harrisburg , PA and graduated from John Harris High School in 1948. He graduated from Penn State University in January 1954 with a degree in Labor Management Relations. While at Penn State he was a member of Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity, the Statesmen Dance Band, a member of a national music honorary, and listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. His education was interrupted for a brief time of duty with the 28th Infantry Division and the 5th Army during the Korean War. David was employed by the Martin Company in Baltimore in 1954 and in 1958 moved to West Palm Beach to work for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Florida where at different periods he was manager of hourly, salary and executive compensation. In their early years in Palm Springs , David and his wife participated in various service groups and clubs including voluntary fire and police, civic associations, and others. Most significant was his participation with others in the organization, planning, and construction of the Palm Springs Little League Field. In 1974, David and his family moved to Palm Beach Little Ranches. He retired from Pratt & Whitney in June of 1991. David leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary Lou Judge Maver; daughters, Michele and her husband the Rev. David Rawls and their children, Bradley and Heather; Malorie and her husband Richard McGinnis and their children, Amanda, Jason, and Taylor; Melissa and her husband Mitch Bailey and their children, Jessalyn and Megan; a son, David W., Jr. and his wife Monica and their children, Alexis, Katharina and Joshua.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 7, from 7-9 pm at PALMS WEST FUNERAL HOME, 110 Business Pkwy , Royal Palm Beach. Services to be held at St. Peter's United Methodist Church , 1584 W. Forest Hill Blvd. , Wellington at 10:30 am . Entombment to follow at Lake Worth Memory Gardens .

The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in David's memory to the Asbury Seminary Scholarship Fund at St. Peter's UMC.
